The meeting held in the Civic Library in Farigliano on Saturday, February 25, was full of active participants who contributed to the expansion of everyone’s awareness. The topics covered were how to use the mind’s attentive and reflective qualities to be able to make the best of any situation and interaction with others. During the first half of the meeting it was considered that we do not usually react to what happens but to the meaning we attach to what was. This meaning usually arises from conditioning or a past situation, things that have nothing to do with what is actually happening. It is precisely these meanings, these internal stories that prevent us from being truly present and objective. During the second part of the meeting we practiced practical methods to develop attentional skills. We also considered what really lies behind problematic situations and discovered how to be able to find the positive side of any situation by asking the right questions.
